Vol. 02: Because Nostalgia Hits Different in Adulthood

You don’t realize how many good memories are tied to music, games, or shows from your childhood until you’re in a store and the song from your high school prom plays over the intercom…

Or you visit your parents and the house smells like summer break when Mom used to make your favorite meal.

Nostalgia is such a powerful way to spark instant joy, because it reminds you of a time when life was likely easier, you had very little responsibility, and you can remember the moments of fun and laughter that accompany the memories it brings up.

This past Tuesday, I attended a fashion & espresso martini event hosted by Nigel Barker from America’s Next Top Model with my best friend!

Talk about Nostalgic! 🥹 That man is still good looking and was so nice.

On the way, my bestie (of 25 years) and I blasted Danity Kane and Destiny’s Child on Pandora 🤣 It doesn’t get more nostalgic than that.

We kept talking about how much we remember the show Making the Band and all the scenes from them recording the different songs. Do you remember them or that show?!

So I challenge youwhat’s something nostalgic for you that you can bring back this weekend?

A favorite movie, a board game you played with your family, a band or a group you loved in high school…Bring it back for the weekend. You won’t regret it.

This Week’s Touch Grass Prompt

🍃 Sit on your porch or balcony with a snack you loved as a kid

Fruit Roll-Up, Capri Sun, Pop-Tart—whatever takes you back. Eat it without guilt, no multitasking, no screens. Just vibes.

Now Playing / Tap Out

1.) Nostalgic Song: “Show Stopper” by Danity Kane — because nothing screams 2006 car karaoke like this song on Pandora

2.) Movie Night: Rewatch a throwback like Save the Last Dance or Love & Basketball for max early-2000s vibes

3.) Ritual to Try: Bake cookies, light a vanilla candle, or spritz a body spray you wore in high school. Let your space smell like a memory

Banked & Balanced Moves

This month I went back to something I used to lovea video series.

I recorded a 4-part series in one morning, and the engagement + leads rolling in reminded me why this format always worked so well.

Sometimes nostalgia isn’t just for fun—it’s a reminder of what already felt easy, natural, and joyful.

And honestlyPre-recording them all in one day made it low-lift and gave me two weeks of content without stress. A vibe I fully plan on bringing back.
